High result Essay Example for Free

High result endeavorFirst of all, I prep be my working place and start my decisiveness. All my measurements are recorded to the circumvent above. The smallest graduation of the thermometer is 1 C. According to this, I take the absolute uncertainty of my temperature measurements as. I do non add additional uncertainty as I did not encounter any further difficulties in weight measurement. To determine mussinesses I used a digital scale with provided uncertainty in the instruction of the digital scale of 0.2g. Therefore, I take it as the absolute uncertainty of the mass measurements. I take the temperature of ice as C because the ice was melting when I started to use it in my experiment. I take this temperature supposititiously and do not include uncertainty to this measurement as it is in theoretical level. After having determined the raw data, I fill it into the table.Further I provide constants that will be used during my decisiveness. These are taken from Giancoli Physics 5 th edition, page 421cwater = 4186 J*(kg*C)-1caliuminium = 900 J*(kg*C)-1Data impactNow I will provide the mass of the water. To do this I will subtract the mass of the calorimeter from the mass of calorimeter and water togethermwater = (163.3 0.2) (35.0 0.2) = (128.3 0.4) gNow I can compare my result with literatures. In Giancoli Physics 5th edition page 425 it is provided that the latent come alive of fusion of ice to 3.33 x cv J*kg-1. Therefore, the portion discrepancy is equal to 17%. Also, the theoretical percentage uncertainty is equal to 11%. I will discuss these finding in conclusion and evaluation part. Conclusion and evaluationThe percentage discrepancy of 17% shows that the determination was make quite precisely. Moreover, the percentage uncertainty of 11% suggests that the determination was done quite accurately as well. However, these are only theoretical assumptions as much energy and heat was transferred to send out during the water cooling process. Further, I have to state to a greater extent weaknesses and limitations of my determination. Some errors were encountered despite the event that I tried to be as accurate as possible. First of all, the main weakness of the determination was that all the determination was done theoretically and I could not measure how much heat was transferred to air during the water cooling process. I was not able to measure the heat spill. Moreover, I took the ice temperature theoretically as I also could not measure it. These were clearly the weakest parts of all determination. Of course, the results are bully enough, as the percentage discrepancy shows, notwithstanding still it was only a theoretical determination base on the assumption that Qlost = Qgained. However, as for the percentage uncertainty I should blame only the instruments as I had to use quite many of them, but the uncertainty they provided was relatively small. My percentage uncertainty does not include the uncertainty of theoretical assumpti ons.Furthermore, some systematic errors have occurred as I had to do a rotary of calculations and roundings during the data processing part. Also, the instruments may have been badly calibrated and this could have affected my determination. However, systematic errors are not important because even if they even were encountered, they were very small. Another thing is with random errors and heat loss as they were really significant because the percentage uncertainty shows relevantly high result.I could provide some(prenominal) suggestions to improve the determination but obviously I am not able to make this determination not theoretically in schools conditions. First of all, I would rather use more ice, bigger calorimeter and more water. Then, as I would still use the same equipment with same absolute uncertainties, the percentage uncertainty would be reduced significantly. The uncertainty would be less important and more accurate results would come. However, my suggestions would on ly lesser the uncertainties, but they would not totally cancel them and it would still be only a theoretical determination.

Macroeconomic Performance of the Ten Countries Essay Example for Free

Macro sparing operation of the Ten Countries EssayWhat was Expected from the Governments and Central Banks of These New Entrants? On May 1, 2004, ten Central European and Mediterranean countries adjuncti mavend the EU and their names be as follows Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovenia, and Slovakia. This raised the enlargement to 25 countries that comp swot of 450 one thousand million good deal, which is to a greater extent than the world of the U.S. and Japan combined. 1 This accession imparting compel the new appendage states governments to utilize the EU legislation without much exception and testament enable them to enjoy every last(predicate) the advantages that go with it, and once they go through a certain period and show improvements, they will be include in Schengen welkin and the euro govern. In addition, from the year 2004 to 2006 they ar entitled to receive a payment of 45 billion euros in a form of a communi ty aid and 30.7 billion euros in a form of payment appropriations. As a result, according to ii treaties that were signed in Amsterdam and square-toed that were the basis through which the enlargement was conducted, the intent of the whole arrangement was to make the enlarged Europe to a greater extent democratic, transparent, and effective calling on all governments to work on these areas. The end result of the enlargement had been tagged as a historical precedence that will motley the dimensions of the continent and it is believed to put the division of the old behind ushering in democracy, freedom, and stability to the whole percentage. At the same epoch it is believed that it creates opportunities for all involved where the azoic 15 populations business share and stintingal activity had step-upd, era the new entrants have to a fault reaped frugal advantage that was non available for them before the assesstion. What had come into existence is a union of 450 million peo ple and had already represented at the sentence the union was effected one-fourth of the world wealth, giving the region a new leading economic power. In addition, the role the continent is playing in the global scene had gotten enhancement, especially in security and defense policy. 2The new states and their governments that are unitinging the marriage ceremony will have to adhere to the Copenhagen Criteria and it has three components. The first component is any of the terra firmas that are fall in the union should bear upon a certain level of stability and should have establishments that oversee and guarantee democracy, the rule of law, human rights, and the discover of the rights of minorities. Then the second one which is an economic criteria stipulates that the commonwealths adhere to the principle of the market economy and have a mechanism that enables them to deal with competitive pressure and market forces that will be directed at them subsequently joining the EU. What is called acquis communautaire adoption criterion anticipates that the candi regards should put themselves in a position to shoulder the memberships obligations, as well as a strict adherence to the principles of the political, economic, and monetary union. Through all this ope browse the conglutination is responsible for evaluating, recommending, and approving of the states exertion and it will evaluate the capacity of the Union to absorb more members without strikeing the normal functioning of the existing Union members. The process starts when European countries apply to join the Union and that will be evaluated based on how the applicant nations with the guidance of their respective governments meet the Copenhagen political and economic criteria, and the accession is granted barely when the requirements are met. The nations through their governments will have to agree to apply the EU legislation that is over 80,000 pages from day one, even if there are a few exceptions that will furnish the new entrants a leeway as long as it is not going to intervene with the smooth-spoken operation of the activities of the former(a) members. When the EU is convinced that the applying nations meet all the requirements of the Copenhagen criteria the next phase will kick in, which is the signing of the accession treaty. 3The ten Central European and Mediterranean states, through macroeconomic plans that were introduced and carried out by their respective governments had gone through this process before getting permission to join the Union. And once they joined the Union there are more questions arising because it is difficult to say what currency they should be using and as long as they meet the Maastricht criteria they are expected to the join the euro zone by abandoning their own currency. here the various central banks play a leading role because it is known that it will take them just about time to meet the requirements and eyepatch working to meet the re quirements they will have to focus on their morphological and economic refines so that they will manage to have a better convergence in both nominal and real terms. Since the new(prenominal) requirement before joining the euro is entering the Exchange Rate chemical mechanism of the European Monetary System, the ERM II will require them to abandon their own monetary policy. It does not necessarily mean this route fits everyone since the rigorous stability requirement applied by the exchange come in could jump out the existing stand of their current account, simply because when there is appreciation in their currency it will affect their competitiveness, because of the naughtyschool price they will be forced to charge. The other(a) worry is joining the ERM II should not result in overvaluing their currency whereby they will be obligated to devalue their currency in the ii years test period. From what had been witnessed some of the nations had an open economy that was heavil y reliant on trade with EU countries and if they can eliminate the transaction cost in any way, which would include currency exchange, they will wedge it. 4The final outcome was from the ten countries that joined the Union Slovenia, Lithuania, and Estonia were able to enter the ERM II and were expected to join the euro zone on January 1st, 2007, simply because they had met most of the criteria. But the only nation that managed to join the euro was Slovenia showing that the others did not meet some of the requirements, they need more time to make the adjustments, and expertness be able to join the euro by the year 2008. The other three nations Latvia, Cyprus, and Malta had also joined ERM II and could join the euro in 2008. The stay members Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Poland are deemed to wait longer to better meet the criteria. 5The Macroeconomic Policy These Nations had been Following subsequently Joining the Union. To address this question starting from the Central Eu ropean nation that just joined the euro zone in January 1, 2007 magnate shed light on the areas that the nation did right while the other two nations Lithuania and Estonia will have to wait at least up to 2008 to be evaluated if they would meet the requirement of the ERM II. The nation had $17,290 per capita income in 2005, it had a population of two million people, and it was among the most successful transition economies. The nations gross domestic product per capita in 2005 was 81% of the other EU members, which must have helped it to get a high score, since it is the only nation that has such a high percentage.According to the report the prosperity of Slovenia is due to its drowsy and consensual approach to reform, which has made it different from the other nine countries. It has worked hard to attain this position although lately its competitiveness is eroding. Another area that had lagged was irrelevant direct investment (FDI) due to the slower pace and the worldwide reluc tance to interact with foreign sources resulting the FDI to be 1.2% of gross domestic product between 1997-2005. Even if it had reached once to 7% of GDP it had gone back to .02% of GDP in 2005 and this falling behind is curtailing the advancement the nation could have attained, that it did not prevent it from joining the euro, simply because the possibility is within reach. 6As far as economic development is concerned the nation has justd 3.9% it the mentioned period and had managed to fend off macroeconomic imbalances that were commonplace with the other transitional economies and its tight fiscal and monetary policy had resulted in allowing it to have a near balanced cypher with a 1.7% budget and 1.1% current deficit, another good public presentation that was coupled with an enhanced foreign trade. The area also had managed to bring swelling under control and it had it at a single-digit since 1996. Another advantage the nation had was it had a strong surgical process where the GDP growth was at 3.9% fueled by a rise in foreign demand. In all this, inflation was under control at 2.5% and that was attained by allowing wage to lag behind productivity growth, by making up for oil price increase by introducing excise tax, and by attaining a stable exchange rate. 7The next nation to look at is Lithuania which was among the three nation that were slated to join the eruo in 2007, but has not made it and looking at its performance energy shade light on how it fared. The first glaring difference between the two countries is the per capita income where in Lithuania it was $7,210 in 2005 even if the population in Slovenia was only 1.4 million, whereas the population in Lithuania is 3.4 million. Other than that the GDP growth of 7.5% was much higher and it was the fastest growing economy in the region. It also had much more to export, which include refined oil, machinery and equipment, and textile. It is not different than the other countries that are heavily depe ndant on the euro zone for their exports, the average being 60%. The other advantage it had over Slovenia was it had enjoyed a peak GDP growth of 10% in 2003 since it was in a better position to create wage growth by saving down unemployment from 17% down to 6% and in doing that it had got help from the EU fund that it was entitled for joining the Union in 2004.At the same time, it had a much better domestic demand that is change it to drive its economy. Yet, there is a sign of heating of the economy as there is shortage of workers since they are migrating to the UK and Ireland. After joining ERM II it had shown an impressive commitment to adopt the euro and was able to liberalize its pricing and most of its trades had been directed to the EU zone. The other factors such as privatization had been taken care of to the point where all factors of output are in the private hands, and it had also been working in the area of FDI that is seeing a take over increase. If there is another aspect that is holding it back it could the unparalleled beggary level in the nation and it is at 52% purchasing power parity compared to 81% enjoyed by Slovenia. And one of the reasons that it did not condition might be at least 16% of its population lives under the poverty line and poverty is widespread in the rural area where it is considered to be up to 57% of the poor are aliment. That area might be the reason that contributed to its being held back for a while since all the indicators including health and nurture are going badly lacking in these regions. 6Estonia that was in the list to join the euro in January 1, 2007 with the other two nations is a relatively smaller country with a population of 1.35 million and its per capita income is $9,100. This nation has few natural resources and it depends on trade for the most part. Its main specialty export is telecom. Its GDP growth performance was not bad at 7.5%. The country had been a main gateways for trade between the S oviet Union and the West that is said to have given it some advantage and because of that the education level and the standard of living of the people was higher that other member countries. In 2005 its GDP growth had reached 9.8% resulting in the heating up of the economy as the unemployment rate had gone down, while at the same time workers are migrating to the other EU countries. What is driving its economy is the domestic demand that is expanding due to income growth and credit expansion that is also taking export higher. If there is any problem highlighted it is the overheating of the economy and the current account blot that is at 11% of GDP in 2005 and was at 13% in 2004, which would mean this could be one of the reasons why its plan to join the euro in 2007 had been postponed. 8The other three nations slated for 2008 to join the euro are Latvia, Cyprus, and Malta. Latvia has a per capita income of $6,750 and has 2.3 million people where one-third of them are living in the ca pital city. The nation has few natural resources and is an importer for the most part and the import includes natural gas, oil, and electricity. The source of GDP for 2005 was 23% industry, 73% work, and the remaining 4% was from agriculture. The country had some difficulty adjusting after it left the Soviet Union and the situation was turned around by the fiscal discipline the government introduced, where a cap was put to the subsidies enterprises were getting. The governments early ease effort had enabled the nation to join WTO in 1999. Overall, the nation had converted itself into a market economy, which enabled it to join the EU in 2004. Market and price liberalization, privatization, restriction on foreign transaction all are in the right perspective and the result had been positive where privatization is almost complete.Other areas overhauled were the legal system, institutions, and the social safety net. The GDP growth had made it to 10.2% in 2005 and the unemployment rate w as at 8.7% in the same year. Some of the malice that is affect the other nations such as low-income level, which was at 47% of the EU average had not spared this nation either. Because of that tug migration had been escalating after joining the Union which is feared to create a problem in the long run while at the same time the population is aging. Because of this there is a fear of overheating and the deficit has reached 12.4% while inflation is at 6%, which has contributed to the holding back of the nation from joining the euro and that might be manageable in 2010. 6Cyprus on the other hand has a highly developed infrastructure with a population of 784,000 and with a per capita of $7135. The macroeconomic policy of the government had focused on meeting the requirement of joining the EU. at that place was oil discovery in the sea south of Cyprus and negotiations had gone underway with the neighboring Egypt how to exploit the finding. The overall market structure is based on a f ree-market basis and is heavily dependant on the service sector, yet there is lack of investment from government and private sector, while at the same time the high cost of freight had been scaring business away, and all this had been worsened by the lack of skilled labor. In spite of this handicap, the GDP growth rate had made it to 11.4 in 2004 and yet it is lagging behind in attracting FDI. Even if there is a political problem between the north and south, this particular nation might be among the nations that would join the EU in 2008. 9Malta is also another island with a population of 404,000, which had transformed itself into a freight transshipment and a financial center as well as a tourist destination. In addition, it has some limestone and a better productive labor force than Cyprus where the economy is dependent on foreign trade, manufacturing, and tourism. Its per capita income is much higher than most countries at $20,300 and the unemployment rate for 2006 was at 6.8%. T he island has liberalized its market and privatized some government-controlled firms and the possibility that it might join the euro zone is there. 9The other nations Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland, are much bigger nations and there is Slovakia also that are slated to join the euro gradually after meeting the criteria, which might prove to be difficult to them because of their size. If we take the representative of the Czech Republic, it has a population of 10.2 million and a per capita income of $11,110 making it among the highest income earning countries. After joining the EU in 2004 the process of transforming the economy from centrally planned to a market driven economy is almost complete. on that point had been a considerable fiscal consolidation, and the inflation is low at 1.8%, while at the same time it had no problem with its balance of payments.Foreign direct investment is 50% of the GDP making it the only nation that enjoys such inflows of investment, yet, in spite of it, it had a high unemployment rate of more than 8% and is persisting, which might have been because of its high population that is not affected much by the migration of labor. The GDP growth for 2005 was 6%, attained mainly through export created through FDI in the automotive sector. The fiscal deficit for 2005 was at 3% whereas the current account deficit fell to 2.3% for 2005. Because of the high unemployment, which is the outcome of sluggish economic performance it might have to stay a bit longer before joining the euro, although the expectation is it will meet the requirement eventually. 10More or less, the same is applicable to the other three countries Hungary, Poland, Slovakia whose population is 10 million, 38 million, 5.4 million respectively, making Poland the highest populated country among the EU-10 countries. While Hungry had $10,050 per capita income, Poland had $7,110, and Slovakia had $8,130 in 2005. Poland had to deal with geomorphological reforms to consolidat e public finance, tackle unemployment and poverty, work on making the nation attractive for business by introducing a more efficient government. The fact that up to seven million people live in poverty does not make it look as a good candidate for the euro yet and the unemployment rate is the highest at 16%. However, the situation is a bit changing after joining the EU in 2004 and there was a growth of 5.3% in GDP in 2004, which created high consumption level, investment opportunity, and a better exporting level, and eventually it will make it a proper candidate to join the euro as it is working to meet that goal. Its FDI is at 5% of GDP and that is low for such a large country although its inflation rate is low at 2.1% and its current account defect is also under control. 6On the other hand, Hungary is in a much better position since it was able to attract FDI that is enabling it to condition a robust private exporting sector. If there is a problem, the budget deficit is at 8% due to higher public spending and tax reduction, which could affect the economy in the long run. puffiness had slowed down to 3.5% for 2005 which was due to regulated prices and a decrease on indirect taxes. The unemployment rate stood at 7.2% in 2006. Even if the government had introduced a fiscal consolidation program what might be needed to change the situation is a long term structural reform. Hungary is moving steadily to join the euro gradually, and is better rigid than the rest of the countries that are in line to join the euro in the coming years. 6Slovakia is also in a similar situation with the others where it had a 6% GDP growth in 2005 and had unemployment rate of 16.2%. In upstart years, especially after joining the EU in 2004 it had undertaken major steps to decentralize its economy. The government had introduced reform in many areas including welfare, pension, health care, labor market, and public finance. Its GDP for 2005 grew by around 6% and inflation was at 2.7%. The fiscal deficit was at 3.3% while the current account deficit had been 7.8% of GDP for 2005 and it had FDI rate 2.7% of GDP. Overall, it is working toward meeting the EUs criteria to join the euro although it is difficult to say when it will meet all the requirements. 6The conclusion is, there are requirements these nations will have to meet and the major ones are to tackle high level of inflation, a budget deficit below 3% of GDP, the public debt has to be at a manageable level, and maintaining a long term low interest rate in parallel to other central banks. If these are in place side by the side with the Maastricht and the Copenhagen Treaty criteria the time it will take them to join the euro will be shorter. Otherwise, their participation could affect the smooth operation of the whole Union, as well as it will put them at a disadvantage offsetting their whole fiscal and monetary policy. 11REFERENCEThe Union Welcomes Ten New Countries Online. easy http//www.delnam.cec.eu.int/OurN ewsletter/2004/ECNewsMay04.pdf. HUM 102 Week 1 Individual Assignment Humanities Today Paper Essay Example for Free

HUM 102 Week 1 one-on-one Assignment arts Today Paper EssayWhen learning close to passel and their cultures, it becomes inevitably to admit how people be the result of their traditions, their stories, their ideas, and their words. It also becomes necessarily to learn about how people from past generations bring forthd the orb they lived in and how this world made them the way they were. Learning about arts is more than employmenting about past cultures. Each generation leaves a creative legacy, the sum of its ideas and achievements. This legacy represents the response to the effort to get word individual and collective survival, the need to establish ways ofliving in harmony with others, and the desire to record everyones place in the universe (Fiero, 2011). The study of Humanities is the study of the people and how they learn and documented their world pay offs through art, music, architecture, philosophy, and literature. Defining Humanities The humanities are ac ademic disciplines that study the human condition, exploitation methods that are primarily analytical, critical, or speculative, as distinguished from the mainly empirical approaches of the natural sciences (University of South Florida, 2014). The pristine definition of the singular form humanity refers to being humane thatmeans civilized and wellhead-educated.Humane people recognize and practice concepts like hospitality and justice, even though its definition may motley in different places. The word humanity also refers to the human race. Using the word humanities it usually refers to the field of study within university settings, a group of subjects scholars study, discuss and debate including history, music, art, languages, philosophy, religion, and literature. (Behling, 2012) There are qualities that distinguish the humanities from other modes of human inquiry and expression. The humanities engage in critical military rank of visual, literary, communication and performing a rts. In other words, the humanities critically see the human experiences humanities right away 3 across cultures that engage all modes of actualiseing such as intellectual, imaginative, and emotional. The study of humanities goes beyond just practicing the arts. It is the intense analysis of the art and its outcomes as well as how the imagination, emotions, and uncertainty affect the human being. The humanities explore the relationship between the insubstantial and hidden meanings. It provides expression to all forms of human experience using all modes of understanding. The humanities capture the idea that is not just to study the arts alone to engage with other modes of understanding including rational, intellectual, and critical mode as learned from social sciences. The humanities understand the role of individuals in exploring the human conditions. It reflects on the form and the content of all modes of expression including language, visual, auditory, or tactile. The study of humanities attends to the aspects of human experience that cannot be measured. For instance, when learning a new language. The humanities recognize the cosmopolitan patterns of literature, linguistic, visual and performing arts throughout history. It also constructs and evaluates oral and written discussions in a lucid form. The Current Developments in Politics, Socioeconomics, and Technology The arts, music, architecture, philosophy, and literature, are some of the disciplines of the humanities. These disciplines offer models and methods for addressing dilemmas and acknowledging ambiguity. They can help individuals face the latent hostility between their concerns promote informed discussions of conflicts and place online issues in historical perspective. These disciplines of humanity give role and artistic shape to experience, balancing passion and rationality while exploring issues of morality and value. The study of humanities provides the HUMANITIES TODAY 4 scenario in which expressions, interpretations, and experiences can be recognized in areas explored by shared interests (The Ohio Humanities Council, 2015). The visual arts employ a wide variety of media, ranging from traditional colors utilize in painting, to wood, clay, marble, plastic and neon used in sculptures, to digital media, including photography and film. The form of the art work depends on the manner in which the artist manipulates the elements of color, line, texture, and space. Artists manipulate form to describe the visible world or to create worlds of fantasy. (Fiero, 2011) There is a strong relationship between the arts and politics. In response to actual political events within society, the arts may adopt certain social dimensions focusing on the controversy and on inspiring social changes. For instance, Alexander Pushkin, (who died in 1837 at the age of 37), was a famous Russian writer who used his talent to irritate Russian officials bycomposing extremely arrogant and independent secular which made fun of major and minor dictators (Wikipedia, 2015). The Arts are a form of expression used to manifest all types of emotions in earlier and current times. It is a talent inspired by the drop off spirit of those with the capacity to express it.The major elements of music are melody, rhythm, and harmony. However, while literary and visual texts are usually descriptive, music is almost nonrepresentational it rarely has meaning beyond sound itself. Dance is the art form made by the human body as a way of expression and carrying into action oriented.(Fiero, 2011) Information collected by the Department of Education of the United States revealed that students involved in band or orchestra during their middle and high school years demonstrated to have higher levels of math proficiency by grade twelve. This data also showed that students who participate in school band have the lowest levels of current and lifelong use of alcohol, tobacco, HUMANITIES TODAY 5 and illici t drugs when compared to other groups within society. (Music Empowers world, 2015) The architecture and its readying are fundamentally based in society. The builtenvironment affects the everyday actions of the people and their understanding of pagan values, social relations, institutions, and distributions of power. The failure of architects and planners to learn from the stories that are part of the peoples lives and to actually link the residential area values in their work is at the core of many urban dysfunctions present in current times. (Bartholomew Locher, 2007) In terms of philosophy, the search for the truth through reasoned analysis, and history make use of prose to analyze and communicate ideas and information. In terms of literature, content and form are usually interrelated. The subject manner or form of a literary piece determines its genre. For instance, a long narrative poem that recounts the adventures of a torpedo constitutes an epic while a formal speech in pra ise of a person or thing constitutes a tribute. (Fiero, 2011) Conclusion The humanities today gives you the capacity to interpret ideas, a greater creativity, the index to analyze things from different perspectives, the development of a richer understanding of other peoples feelings and experiences as well as human nature, the ability to listen and think, and how to engage with expressing oneself. The media plays Essay Example for Free

The media plays EssayThe media plays a major image in relation to womens football game and womens run around as a whole. In fact the media is most probably the main culprit bottom the small amount of interest generated in women sports. In as early as the 1980s is was include in a federal report which presented a set of figures which demonstrated that the media is almost solely bear on with mens sport. Another form of media, a survey in 1980 revealed that only two percent of reportage was habituated to women in sport, this figure besides decreased in 1984 to just 1. 3 percent. In terms of photographic articles, photographs of males in sport were thirteen times as much as of effeminates in sport. A great majority of individuals get hold of the opinion that women shouldnt play football as they atomic number 18nt suitable or well equipped. This was promoted by the F.As quote in 1921 when they banned womens football, the game of football is quite unsuitable for females and ought not to be encouraged. This is generally due to the medias portrayal of the womens game. The medias technique gives more attention to the males sport, it also can create stereotypical views, much(prenominal) as all female shot putters are lesbians. It can affect the way in which female sport players are perceived. This kind of stereotype directly affects the opinion of womens football. Moreover, television both shapes and reflects the attitudes of our society (Messner, M.A. et al).moreover it reveals several(prenominal)thing in terms of womens status in our society. According to Archer and MacDonald, sport is seen as traditionally a masculine preserve. Only a few sports are seen as more feminine sports such as gymnastics and therefore are more accepted by society than sports such as rugger and football which are seen as more masculine sports. Women are often seen as lesbians if they play a more masculine sport. Hargreaves (2000) quoted that because the muscularity and power invested in female sporting bodies inverts the myth of gender by rendering women apparently less feminine and more masculine sportswomen have feared being labelled as lesbians. Hargreaves continues to calculate out that lesbians themselves face discrimination and barriers in sport, which many have bravely contested. The media can also think of to the stereotype that women should act as a wife and spend their time in the house, and not working. Moreover, in 1988 Chris Evert announced her retirement from sport. This regulart was seen as so significant that Evert appeared on the penetrate of Sport Illustrated, something which is rare to a sportswoman. However rather than focussing on her successful career, the magazine frame her retirement with the caption, Im going to be a full time wife. The main point acceptance of womens sport will only occur when womens physicality is associated with traditional, stereotypical beliefs regarding the females body and its proper use-in graceful and aesthetically winning ways (Greendorfer, 1990).Moreover, women in sports such as gymnastics and figure skating, which are seen as more feminine, have greater social acceptance and media coverage. If sport is not seen as a feminine pastime, football is even less so. As we are often told, it is a mans game. (Gadgil, A., 2003). This opinion is held by many and is certainly created by medias portrayal of women footballers. The media can also however have a beneficial influence on the light of women footballer, for instance, the creation of role models. There is a distinct lack of role models in the womens game in the UK however this is different in America. After the Womens World Cup in 1999 which was set in America, a majority of players in the U.S squad were made households names, made appearances in advertisements and also received sponsorship. A role model is a very important tool in order to attract young females to football. It is a person who is regarded by others as a good example to follow (Collins dictionary 2003). The English analogous to womens football hasnt created many female role models on the pitch however, it has seen certain females in a sentiment of authority within football. One early example of women in positions of authority in the males game was Annie Bassett, who became the first gear senior female Marketing Executive of a professional football club in 1987. utilize my previous knowledge there are only a couple of females which come to mind when I think of role models in connection with football.Firstly Kelly Smith, who is currently playing football for England and a team in the U.S, she was the first English female to be transferred to America. The arcminute person who comes to mind is Karren Brady, the first female managing director at a professional club. Sepp Blatter could be correct with his prediction that the future is feminine however there is still a great deal of development affected in the womens game. Females are st art to appear more and more in the male game, however there isnt enough publicity abandoned to them, therefore it is difficult to find a role model. Most of the better known females which could be classed as role models are involved more with mens football rather than womens football, for instance, Wendy Toms the first female football appurtenant referee in England. The fact that football is so popular worldwide confuses the fact that womens football isnt as popular as the males equivalent. I have already discussed assertable reasons why womens football isnt seen in a good light by many individuals, both females and males. Obviously individuals in connection with the womens game compliments to improve interest, attendance and enthusiasm for the sport, however without using certain termination making techniques and problem solution skills, they may struggle to improve this. I am going to continue to firstly introduce some problem solving tools, and then will go on to try and sug gest certain improvements which could be made to the womens game. As I have already addressed some problems which I am set about with in relation to this issue, I am going to further investigate into problem solving.G. Brown and M. Atkins (1988) devised a problem solving technique which involved four stages. Stage one involves identifying and stating the problem, dissecting it and exploring it. The problem that I am addressing is related to why womens football isnt as popular as the men game. I have set possible reasons behind this in my essay, including the medias influence, the lack of role models, and the bad publicity which female athletes or players receive. The second stage requires me to use previous knowledge of problem and relate it to similar problems. Thirdly I drive to devise an approach to try and solve the problem. Finally I need to evaluate my approach. There are many approaches to help to solve a problem. Brainstorming is a good method which usually involves grou nd a question then in a group deciding on many possible answers. These answers are usually written down without judgement and accuracy. However once enough answers have been brainstormed, they need to be evaluated to see exactly how accurate they may be. For all problem solvers there is a run to follow. Moreover in conjunction with G. Brown and M.Atkins theory, there require to be certain stages. The problem needs to be firstly recognised, and then defined. Before the problem is analysed there is a need for some decision making, for instance, the desired situation and objective need to be clear. Once this is completed, the problem needs to be analysed, and what is more possible solutions need to be suggested. Once this has been completed the solution needs to be assessed and evaluated.

Personal Feelings And Learning From The Experiences Education Essay

Personal Feelings And eruditeness From The Experiences Education EssayThis musing report is written as sort of the applied heed redact on WTOs impact on line of descent entering new market which reviews the role of the regime in promoting cross border change over and new market access. According to Boud, Keogh and Walker (1985) reflective depth psychology is mean to enable a person to evolve, select and develop the experience establish knowledge. It is an open stop employ giving meaning to the past experiences and understands better their signifi commodece in the present. A reflective outline is key upon the period of writing up the dissertation chore in a team is presented in the avocation paragraphs. The presentation of the considerateness is found on my experiences upon the outset of the purport it egotism with anecdotes of the past coming up in amidst. This reflection has helped me to gain a better sympathy of the role of reflective analysis of the past and how it dissolve help me in my future career as well. The report is presented in four carve ups with my protest and our classifys recollection of experiences being the first split. This part gives out mainly my experience on the start of the project and phase when we worked as a convention whatsoever of the frictions within the meeting and cerebration contemporaries incident etc. In the next stage the dynamics of root is analysed in depth again based on my experience and also roughly feedback from my group itself. An attempt is made to connect the experiences with the theory on group dynamics and this presentation has helped me to understand the importance of group work, how difficult it is for some good deal to engage in groups and the opposite side where there are natur tout ensembley talented leaders and followers. The part on group dynamics explores the theories on group geological institution especially Tuckmans (1963) theory of forming, storming, norming and perfor ming. In the next prick my personal speck and some development I gained from the experiences with working in a team. In this part I shed also put forward the evolution of the project work itself where I larn quite a lot on international business and the role of cosmea profession geological system in the propagation of business around the world. In the final constituent the earthy outcome from a reflective analysis is habituated in the form of lessons learned from the project work. Here is where this reflective analysis has indeed inclined results with some of the lessons and future action points encounter come as a current eye opener. In this exercise of reflection I have tried to be positive and have an analyst frame of mind.Recollection of ExperiencesIn this section of the report I am putting in concert my experience from the start of the project, the first phases when we worked as a group some of the frictions within the group, idea generations and contri nonwiths tandingions of for personly unitary member towards the report. From the first day of the induction programme into the project and upon learning the process of writing the reflective report our entire group decided to take notes on their personal experiences from each day of our meetings. In the suppress many in the group including me had failed to keep up this simple task. entirely we were at resist able to put our vox populis together and sketch a rough idea as to what all had happened during our terzetto months long process of project making. angiotensin converting enzyme of the initial surprises was the topic itself and the composition of the group. The university should have ideally given the students some time for group formation itself as was d unrivaled in the case for other subjects where when a group report had to be written students were allocated time to form up the groups. but we had some idea that a group had to be formed and I along with some others had dec ided to join in the same group. Ultimately when the time for giving out the topics came some other students who were straggler in star sense also added up to our elflike group in order to view as the numbers the university had mandated. This was ab initio and all along the project viewed as an inconvenience as most of these stragglers did not turn up for meetings or shares their piece of the work or take part in giving their ideas for the project. But during the reflection phase we acquire that these additions simply added up to our learning of group formation and performing in a group. After the groups were formed and topics allocated there were a weeks session where we had some constructive discussion on the project. This was the only phase in which the all the group members were present. The searching of information and collection of data for analysis were distributed in these initial days and we all agreed to meet up at regular intervals. Towards the end days of the first weeks session our attendance were beginning to collapse and many from the group dropped out. But it was during this first weeks group work that I experienced how a group smoke work together and how certain people are true leaders and others are followers.During the initial stages of the report making and when various points of views were discussed there were deviation within the small group who were really cohesive as to the nature and the twist the dissertation should take. nigh members were of the opinion that based on the initial inputs itself they should form a stand as to the nature of the progress. As our topic was the role of world trade organisation in developing international trade they argued that based on the initial sets of data belles-lettres review etc a stand of either the world trade organisation is good or bad should be taken. They argued that as we went along with the dissertation this bequeath be the easier course as we only had to argue the cases were this has happened and collect and collate data from one side. But some other members of the group argued that making such a decision in the earlier stages of the work itself will be detrimental to the whole process of the project which is the analysis of the subject and based on the literature review and the analysis a discussion can be made as to whether the world trade organisation has indeed been advantageous pr disadvantageous to world trade. Finally some people tell apart to go with the initial strategy of determining what course they will take and then collecting all their data and analysing and discussion it in such a way that not other conclusion can be reached. These were the recollections and the experiences I had during the project which is worthwhile mentioning here in this report. Following is an analysis of these experiences on the formation of the groups and how I perceived it happened and the fallouts. The news report on group formation and its implications has given me a better understanding of the team working requirements I need to face in a work situation and this analysis I believe will help me to perform better.Group DynamicsThe group dynamics of the in a higher place recollections is analysed here in this section as said earlier the study on group formation and its implications has given me a better understanding of the team working requirements I need to face in a work situation and this analysis, I believe will help me to perform better. In this section the analysis is based mainly on Tuckmans (1963) theory of formation of the teams and their ability to perform. Tuckman (1963) is credited to have analysed the stages of the group formation and he named these sages as forming, storming, norming and performing. As per Schneider (2003), the purpose of a team is to bring together individuals with distinguishable backgrounds, skills, and abilities to solve problems or accomplish a set of goals and objectives working together that would be impo ssible to happen upon working aloneWe were to work as a team for the applied management project and one of the ideas for working in the teams was to develop the sensation of building the team spirit and learn how to work in teams in our future careers. As said earlier we were a small group of four students who worked together in many assignments we had before and we gelled together sluice though there were some friction, ego clashes etc among us. But in spite of all these we were determined to be in one team for the applied management project. During the day of the first seminar some more students joined our teams and we became a big entity and we in fact had ii small teams working in the same one. What happened were two small teams joined together along with some other stragglers who till then were not part of any informal groups of students. As soon as we got the topic we moved on to the stage to prepare ourselves and divide the work among us. It was during the initial stages t hat I get how hard it is for the making of a team and working in them for many people. There were more than one leader in our entire team and each one had their own methods and views about the project work. In some fashion on the first day itself we found ourselves into two groups which were actually the two small groups which had joined up. I found out that there were more interactivity within these two differentiate groups and discourse was much easier within the smaller groups. Analysing it now, I feel that these two smaller groups can be considered as two separate identities working together. At the time there were some misunderstandings, friction and miscommunication between the members and we thought that we were not going to work very well as a team. Each small team had an informal leadership role assumed or rather given and the main communication between the smaller groups happened through these leaders. The work to be done, the topics to be read and researched etc were d ivided up between the smaller groups i.e. initially into two and then we separately divided up these two parts again between ourselves. At the time we had many grievances about the working of each other but now I have come to realise that we indeed worked together but the overall composition was that of two separate identities working together. During the initial stages i.e. forming stage itself we inadvertently began working in our separate ways. Hence the formation of the group was that of two personalities of the two separate small groups. We each had our own working style and personality. It was during the norming stage that we authentically started working in our individual groups and we started finding the rhythm. There were friction during the work allotment idea generation etc and this might be analysed as the storming stage where some personal differences and ego clashes came to the fore. In the end when we started to have separate group meetings and then combining our tho ughts in the end by our respective leaders to each other we were actually a performing group. Unfortunately it should be said that these group performances did not furthermost very long. As soon as the induction week was over out group meetings ended and then we rarely met. But our small group which had earlier itself gone through the various stages of formation was a performing group and we tended to work together.Personal Feelings and Learning from the ExperiencesMy personal feelings during the project work were mixed. I had a feeling that we were doing a great work and this chance will not come to us again. On the other hand the work was cumbersome, boring and tiring for most of us after the initial euphoria worn off. We kept on pushing the things to the last minute and indeed the reflection of our experiences we realised that we did not have a time bound schedule for doing things and even during initial stages when we tried to muddle some schedules it never were followed. I t hought that there was plenty of time to do the research as there was three whole months to complete the project. One of the best learnings I had from the project was the scheduling of the project. This was a lesson learnt during the last days as the deadline approached there was a scramble for completing the work. One of the other developments was that even in our small groups there were many ideas on the project which never crossed my mind. I had a feeling from the beginning that I was among the better ones in my group as I always was a guide to many of my colleagues in our previous assignments. Many of my colleagues often cancelled towards me for ideas on how to do the assignments and presentations. But in the final project I realised that each individual have some thing to contribute to the overall performance of the team. This happened when they were sufficiently motivated to work for the project. The motivation to work and put run came from the challenges we faced as from the very beginning we all realised that not a single individual could find all the answers and team work is needed. Hence each person had to put in their bowel movement and when they saw their work acquiring appreciated them felt motivated enough to venture into unknown grunge and come up with many ideas even though some of them were complete idiotic. Hence I can say that individual effort does count in any group work. There were also instances of cases where I felt that some people with certain mentality are truly unable to work in groups at all. These are not to be construed as weakness in any part but it is true that some people are unable to work in groups. These are people with an separate frame of mind and they will stand out in as many as the group activities as they could. They could either participate opposely in a group work or does not participate at all.I learned quite a lot on international business and the role of world trade organisation in the propagation of business around the world. It was also during this study that the implications came upon me and some of the group members then formed some negative opinion of the world trade organisation. As it turned out the recent data and the literature were giving a negative aspect on the WTO. The literature review suggested that stronger and developed countries were putting much weight on the organisation to make the rules and regulations in their way so that poor developing countries need to open their trade barriers and cheap goods can be dumped in such countries. There were several instances of such cases were the poor countries were bullied by the developed world with the end result that the gap between the rich and the poor nations has only increased even after the formation of WTO.Lessons for Future ProjectsOne of the important lessons I learned for the future career is on time tutelage and the importance of mean the activities. During the final stages of the project we did not have enough time to complete as we had taken it unaffixed from the beginning. This made me thinking in the final stages of the project on the importance of homework and scheduling of the work and also my life. I have decided to have a innovationning and make action points for each part of my life starting with my career plan. Till then I was an easy going person and hoped to get some job after my studies. But I realise that getting a job is not easy and getting a job that I would like to do will be very difficult. The other most important learning from this reflective analysis on the short period of the project was the subject of reflection itself. The reflection on my previous experiences gave me valuable insights into this self learning tool which can be used in my career. Self reflection is an important part of any body life and when we pause and analyse the past actions we realise that some of them were quite negative or time consuming and things could have been better. From this analysis act ion points can be made for the future. reflection factor is not only to correct the past mistakes but also to gain valuable insights into the factors which have turned out better. Hence I have decided to use self reflection as a tool to pause and analyse my past actions and plan for my future career in every stage of life.ConclusionThe above reflective report written as part of the applied management project on WTOs impact on business entering new market which reviews the role of the regime in promoting cross border trade and new market access. The presentation of the reflection is based on my experiences from the start of the project. The report presented in four parts gives a summary of the experiences I had over the four months of the project, the part played by the group is with an analysis into group dynamics exploring the theories on group formation, my personal feeling and some learning I gained from the experiences with working in a team and also the role of world trade org anisation in the propagation of business around the world. In the final section the natural outcome from a reflective analysis is given in the form of lessons learned from the project work. One of the important lessons I learned for the future career is on time keeping and the importance of planning and scheduling of the work and also my life. I have decided to have a planning and make action points for each part of my life starting with my career plan. The other most important learning is the art of self reflection which is an important part of life to pause and analyse the past actions to and plan for my future in every stage of life. I believe that this reflective analysis has indeed given results with some of the lessons and future action points have come as a real eye opener.
